DCD Webscale in Bangalore tracks India's IT infrastructures

Eighth annual event launches Best In India Awards, at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru

 

The eighth edition of DCD>Webscale in Bangalore will take place on 18 to 19 July 2018 at The Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway, covering themes including energy efficiency, hybrid cloud, data privacy and security.

 

A keen audience of 800 senior IT professionals will hear from more than 30 Indian and International expert speakers including Ajay Bakshi of Aegis Customer Support, Jay Thomas of DailyHunt, Piyush Chowhan of Arvind Lifestyle Brands, Jayavaradhan Sambedu of Societe Generale, and Sanjay Verma of JK Lakshmi Cement. They will address aspects of IT infrastructure transformation through emerging technologies such as machine learning, AI and IoT, discussing issues including blockchain, edge computing, capacity planning and the future of hyperscale infrastructures in India.

 

The event has 23 industry partners and is supported by a headline partner, Schneider Electric.

 

Becoming more energy efficient

 

As growing demand for hyperscale infrastructures within the region increases the need for energy efficiency, the event will hear details of a joint initiative by the US DOE Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the CII-Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) to improve data center energy efficiency. Speakers include Dale Sartor of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, S Karthikeyan from the Confederation of Indian Industry, B. Rajput from the National Informatics Center, Luca Franzen of Socomec Group, and Bessam Moutragi of Borri - Legrand.

 

The Digital India Campaign and the Make in India initiative, are pushing India towards innovation-led transformation. Shailendra Kumar Tyagi, Jurisdictional Director, Bengaluru, STPI, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India will describe how Software Technology Parks of India are to establish and manage the infrastructural resources such as integrated infrastructure including data centers within the region.

 

The two day conference will be joined by experts from Uptime Institute, Wells Fargo, Wibmo, Lenskart, DBS Bank Singapore, Piller, Bangalore International Airport Limited, Eurofins, Apotex Research, Sterling & Wilson, ICICI Bank, Bloom Energy, Rittal, Pentair.

 

On 18 July, the 8th Annual DCD>Webscale conference will also introduce the first “Best In India” Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement and innovation in and around the nation’s data centers. The six Award categories, to be judged by a panel of 24 experts and practitioners from across the Asia Pacific region, will be supported by STT GDC India, as Awards Headline Sponsor.
